Every piece starts the same way: a single knot, securing the thread before anything else takes shape. It doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to hold.

That's the idea behind everything I make and everything I teach.

The real value was never in
the framed piece on the wall. It's in the hours before it; choosing a thread, working out a
line, sitting with something until it's right.

The finished work is just what's left over. A marker for wherever I was in life when I made it.
A landscape. A face. A feeling. An abstract field of colour. The image changes completely,
piece to piece, but what's quietly held inside each one is whatever I was living through at the
time.

I'm Amanda. Forty-four, raised in rural Queensland, now stitching my way through life just
outside Townsville, North Queensland.

I'm a mum and stepmum to four. I found my life travel buddy after more toad-kissing than I'd
like to admit. And for most of my life, I carried this quiet sense of never quite fitting; not
the mould, not the room, not even myself.

In May 2026, I started working with an incredible NLP coach who taught me that I am the
power within my own life. I learned that I'm complete exactly as I am, right where I am,
and that this ride is only ever what I make of it.

These days I'm building something of my own.

A body of textile art made with honesty and
integrity, and a space, both online and in workshops, for other creatives who feel lost, stuck,
or too scared to start.

Because I know that place well. The self-doubt. The inner critic. The fear that keeps the
thread in the packet instead of on the machine. My coaching draws on the same NLP work
that changed my life, helping other makers loosen those patterns so they can trust themselves
enough to create again.

I'm still learning. I still get it wrong sometimes, and I've decided that's fuel, not failure. Love
is my guide now, and somewhere along the way, I have collected a community of once
strangers, that have become my chosen family.

If any of this feels familiar, come say hello.
